What Is The Cost?

Many stump removal companies charge based on a cost per inch of the stump’s diameter, but we believe this approach doesn’t always serve the client’s best interests. Each job has unique factors, such as the number of stumps, excessive surface roots, or accessibility challenges. For this reason, we price by the job rather than by the inch. This method removes any confusion over mismeasurements and often results in savings for our clients.

Text / Email for quick pricing!

We can provide a price estimate over the phone using photos. Please send us two pictures of each stump: one overhead shot with an object of universal size placed on the stump, and another taken from a few steps back to show the root flare and surrounding area. We will then promptly send you an estimate via text or email. For larger jobs, we will come out to assess in person, and if you prefer an in-person estimate for smaller jobs, we are more than happy to accommodate!

Stump Mulch Cleanup

The pile of stump mulch produced from grinding a stump is typically 2 to 3 times the size of the stump. In our estimate, we break down the cost and give clients the option to decide whether they would like the stump mulch cleaned up and hauled away or left behind. Stump mulch can be used in various ways around the property. If you’d prefer, we can also dump the excess mulch in another location on the property at a discounted cleanup cost, as we won’t need to haul it away.

Stump Mulch up close

Stump mulch is typically similar in size and texture to garden mulch, though different tree varieties can produce varying mulch sizes. Some of the most common types include oak and white pine. Pictured above, on the left is an example of oak mulch, and on the right, pine. The larger the stump, the cleaner the mulch; smaller stumps or those with many surface roots will have more soil mixed in. Most of this soil will wash out over time with rain. Many clients have repurposed the mulch for garden beds, compost, or even spread it for chickens to scratch in.
